French classic armchair

A beautiful classic armchair upholstered seat and diamond tufted backrest handcrafted of mahogany wood according to a French antique large armchair. The chair frame is decorated with foliage wood carving, accented with flower carving on the backrest top rail.

The carving decoration of the armchair was inspired by the French classic armchair in the Louis XV period. It features foliage wood carving connected with molding edges on it solid wood frames. A flower wood carving crest decorates the up-curved backrest top rails.

Wood carving 

The Bergere is made of indonesian mahogany wood harvested from state owned production forest. 

Our builder handcrafted it using traditional wood furniture construction to ensure it last for long time.

Upholstery

The chair upholstered with high-density urethane foam and dacron supported with rubber stripes at the seat bottom.

Diamond tufted upholstery on the inside backrest with decorative braid edges.

The arm rest manchette upholstered with the same fabric and method to the backrest.

Tight seat upholstered to a domed shape comfortable seat, finished with decorative braid.

Cabriole leg

The armchair stands on the floor with four cabriole legs and scrolling feet. An outline connected the scroll on the feet to a foliage carving on the legs knee.

Elaborate carving seat rails perfectly curved at the corners connecting all four legs to support the seat.

The Louis XV bergere frame is handcrafted of mahogany wood harvested from sustainable forest managed by Perhutani, a state owned forest company

Kiln dried

The wood kiln dried into 8% moisture contents (inside the kiln dry facility), may increase into 12 - 15% moisture contents while we working on it.

Upholstery

Fabric, foam, dacron, rubber stripes
