The sunrise carving bench is a British antique colonial period furniture piece. The bench employs turning and reeded legs similar to Sheraton chair, continued to turning armrest support. The armrest curved down from the backrest rail forward.
Our builder handcrafted the chair using the best grade teak wood harvested from the sustainable plantation in Central Java. The timber weathered and kiln dried to ensure it will not crack or warp in future.
The most notable and make the bench different to Sheraton chair is the backrest design. It has a wide and curved top rail and flower carving middle rail. A sunrise pierced carving fitted into the backrest rails.
Human back contoured shape back stiles continued to taper and curved backward legs. These make the bench comfortable and stable.
Plain seat rails connected to the legs using tenon mortise joint fastened with a dowel. We hand woven the seat with rattan skin using the most durable technique, hole to hole strand caning.
The bench also available in fabric upholstered seat. We use loose cushion upholstery techniques to the bench, to allow you change the fabric with easy.
We can custom made the bench to suit the room in customer house. Following some photos of our recent custom made sunrise carving bench.
