Each of our wood furniture products is made of sustainable wood harvested from teak plantations and production forests managed by PERHUTANI, a state-owned company in Indonesia.
Through Perhutani the Indonesian government strictly controls the cycle of planting and logging on 2 million hectares of teak plantation in Java and production forest on several islands. The size and the age of the harvested wood restricted to preserve natural resources while providing high-quality timber to industries.
Using sawdust, bark, and wood scraps, we power on our traditional kiln-dry chamber. Time consuming but cost efficient, we kiln-dry the timber into 8% moisture contents. This is to ensure the wood reached it maximum dryness, to avoid cracking and warping in future.
In Jepara there are many kiln-dry chambers with modern equipment and technology available to rent to dry timbe in a large volume.
