Unlike the early Victorian furniture style that adopts design patterns from previous periods, the tub chair features a late Victorian furniture style. Curvaceous shape and strong structure, it comes with a sturdy wooden frame embellished with minimum wood carving decorations.
The tub chair backrest top rail is accented with twinflower carving and splayed leaves. In shallow relief carving, the flowers are projected slightly to avoid sharp edges.
The backrest wooden rail curved down into the armrest manchette highlighted with bead molding on both edges.
The upholstery on the backrest accented with diamond tufted fastened to the wooden rails using domed head upholstery tacks.
The tub chair armrest wood frame out from the manchette to end with by foliage carving ball on top of the front leg.
The chair legs are available in two types, acanthus leaf carving knee and plain knee. The seat front rail is curved forward highlighted with a bead molding edge. The chair with plain knee employs plain seat rail, and the carved knee employs seat rail accented with a flower between splayed leaves wood carving decorations.
The bead molding edges highlight the wood frame starting from the flower cresting top rails down to the front legs and scrolling to end on the whorl front feet.
The strong curvaceous shape wood frame and elegant curves show that the late Victorian furniture design places a priority on structure and shape over decoration.
